LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Police are searching for a suspect following a Sunday afternoon shooting in the 1700 block of Mill Pond Lane that left two people wounded, authorities confirmed.

The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. Sunday, according to neighbors in the quiet residential area. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and expressing fear as law enforcement responded to the scene.
Lafayette police have not publicly identified the victims, but a department spokesperson said both individuals were transported to a local hospital and are in stable condition, based on a news release from the department.
Nearby residents noted that the home in the area is owned by Judge Steven Meyer, a Tippecanoe Superior Court 2 judge, and his wife, Kimberly. Officials have not confirmed whether the judge’s household was the specific target or directly involved in the shooting.
